Guardian Roofs Efficiency

The Guardian™ roof is fully energy efficient achieving a maximum U value of 0.18 W/m2K. This enables a conservatory to be used as an extra living space all-year round. Keeping the space cool in the summer and warm in winter. The Guardian™ roof is also fully approved by the LABC Local Authority Building Control and is fully Guaranteed.

Save money on your heating bills

Guardian Roofs are fully tested and approved to all thermal structural standards. The Guardian™ roof is a high performance insulated roofing system consisting of pre-engineered lightweight frame, two layers of rigid insulation board, internal insulated plasterboard, exterior grade plywood and a vapour membrane. All of these elements added together creates a thermally efficient living space; keeping the warm air out in the summer and preventing the heat from escaping in the winter. This will save the amount of heat energy required to keep the room at an ambient temperature.

Only since October 2010 has it been officially possible to put a solid roof onto a conservatory or a porch

In August 2013, the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) released a circular containing some of the basic guidelines to Building Regulation Legislation. These guidelines apply to the replacement of a translucent roof made from glass or polycarbonate onto a conservatory or porch with a solid roof.

The Guardian™ solid roof is an extremely strong, lightweight tiled roof that is fully approved by the Local Authority Building Control.

Thermal Regulations

To comply with the building regulations created in 2010, all conservatory roofs to rooms (except those in unheated buildings) should be thermally insulated to a maximum U-value of 0.18 W/m²K.

A Guardian Warm Roof regulates the temperature of your conservatory to ensure it’s a pleasant temperature whatever the season. The high performance insulation guarantees lifetime thermal performance, ensuring your room is economical to heat

Structural

The building as a whole must be structurally sound. Any alterations that affect the original structure must be carefully considered. The foundations of the build must be thoroughly checked to ensure that they are suitable for an increased load. The conservatory window framework must be assessed also and the new roof structure must be proven to be structurally sound.

These conservatory roofs have been engineered precisely to your individual requirements and pre-assembled under controlled factory conditions to ensure the highest quality before delivery to the site. The Guardian Roof is a superb system and we offer a full insurance backed 10 year guarantee when installed in accordance with the office Guardian Roof Installation Guide.

The Guardian Warm Roof System is LABC approved.

Replacing Your Conservatory Roof

For many people they have the same issue, they love their conservatory but it’s either too hot, too cold or too noisy. Most of the issues are down to one element, the roof. Replacing the glass or polycarbonate roofs with a stylish Guardian™ tiled roof means you don’t just improve the appearance of your home but you will now also have a full insulated soundproof roof that is exactly what you always wanted.
